Jaya allies want to keep course with BJP
All India Anna DMK allies PMK and the MDMk denied that front leader Jayalalitha had any plans to destabilise the Vajpayee government at the Centre. In a significant development, the Pattali Makkal Katchi founder leader S Ramadoss said that his party was opposed to withdrawing support to the government and conveyed the same to AIADMK chief and front leader Jayalalitha. He voiced the hope that she "would not ignore the views of her allies".

Now, Jaya wants ED chief reinstated
The BJP breathed a sigh of relief yesterday as no announcement of withdrawal of support came today from J Jayalalitha. But the AIADMK chief kept up the pressure by writing to Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee to demand the cancellation of the transfers of 17 top officials, including former Enforcement Director M K Bezbaruah and Revenue Secretary N K Singh.

Congress to approach Jaya
Senior Congress leader and party Working Committee (CWC) member Sharad Pawar has said his party would think of approaching All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) chief J Jayalalitha for support to form an alternative Government at the Centre the moment she decides to withdraw support to the Vajpayee Ministry.
