Thipsay loses to Saravanan
Indian Grandmaster Pravin Thipsay's bad run continued as he lost to compatriot V Sarvanan in the second round of the Asian Chess Championship at Teheran on Sunday. Sarvanan's win after 39 moves of a keenly-contested game improved his chances for a Grandmaster norm.

Luck, pluck in Vijay Singh's victory in US PGA
The long, lonely hours on the range were merely a dress rehearsal for Vijay Singh. He was on centre stage on Sunday at Sahalee and turned in a star performance.
