EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE  
No evening water supply
Residents serviced by the Nalanda, Tarsali and Gajrawadi tanks will not receive their evening water supply on Wednesday as the VMC will join the pipeline to the main feeder line near Sayaji Park on Ajwa Road. Those residing between the Sardar Patel Estate and Octroi Post will also not receive evening water supply, while those drawing water from Panigate tank will get water at low pressure.

Two arrested
Two persons were arrested near Jubilee Baug and a country-made revolver with 19 cartridges seized by the Raopura police on Tuesday evening. One of them was identified as Tushar alias Nainesh Jagdish Tadvi of Dahod, while the other was Ramdas Shailesh Suresh Chandra Agrawal, an M S University student and Vadodara-resident.

VMC approval
The General Board of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation on Tuesday approved a proposal to legalise unauthorised water and drainage connections. The Congress proposal demanding legalisation of illegal connections in slums and in unauthorised houses was outvoted.

Slaughter house
The slaughter house run by the Vadodara Municipal Corporation will be closed for eight days from Wednesday due to the Jain festival of Paryushan parva, according to an official release.

IIMM AGM
The annual general meeting and the annual get-together of the Indian Institute of Materials Management will be held on Wednesday at Vanijya Bhavan, Race Course Circle, at 6 pm. The function will be presided over by Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Limited Director (Operations) S K Anand.

Ban on arms
Commissioner of Police Kuldip Sharma has imposed a ban on carrying of arms within the limits of the commmisionerate with immediate effect till August 31.

DDO empowered
The General Board of the District Panchayat on Tuesday authorised the district development officer to convert agricultural land into non-agricultural land.
