On the sidewalk -- Milind Ingle
Anagha Sawant
Milind Ingle has an inside view to life. The singer of the now-famous love ballad `Chui Mui Si...' from the Rajshri album Yeh Hai Prem, loves to spend his time indoors. If it comes to entertaining, he opens the doors of his home. On the professional front, most of his day is spent inside recording studios. So, it comes as no surprise, that his favourite place away from home, is also indoors. Gomantak Hall, Vile Parle, is Milind's adda. He plays table tennis here for an hour everyday. Come 5.30, and Milind is at his favourite haunt -- lobbing, smashing and tipping the tiny white ball over the net. "I alter this table tennis routine only for recordings," he says. But apart from the exercise, Milind has to do hazoori at Gomantak because it is also his drawing room, outside of his Vile Parle residence. It is here that he socialises and plays the role of a social scientist. "I get to know about the latest fads and trends here. A lot of young people come here and by watching them Iget to know more about the young and what they like." Important research for a singer and music composer on his way up. "Going to Gomantak helps my profession a lot," says Milind. As a result his sidewalk -- the spot that he claims as his own amid the hurly burly of the city -- keeps him physically and fiscally fit.
