In a medicore encounter, the game was confined in the mid-field in the initial fifteen minutes. Both teams made no serious attempts to score. Shastri's Dinesh scored the opening goal off a cross sent from left flank by inside-left Hisham Ali.

On changing ends, Shastri's mid-fielders Gyano Ranjan and Dinesh made some good moves but forwards Mohd. Atiq, Nadir and Hisham Ali failed to score. In the 53rd minute, referee Krishan Avtar awarded a penalty-kick to Shastri following a foul when Shahdara's defender Ravi Bakuni handled the ball inside the box while clearing Atiq's header. Dinesh converted it to make it 2-0.

Vasant Valley win: Vasant Valley defeated Tagore International School 2-1 to enter the semi-final of the Bro Mahony inter-school football tournament. Prateek Sharda and Surya Bedi were the scorers for the winners while Khalid scored for Tagore International in the junior section.

In the second match, St Columba's downed Springdales (Pusa) 4-0 with Prrasenta Prawrh (2), Roshan Kujur and Gundeep Manik being the scorers. Naval Public School beat St Mary's Academy 1-0 in the senior division for a semi-final berth. Sanjeev while Modern School (VV) defeated their counterpart from Barakhamba Road 4-0.
