Did Indian girls see Nigerian dictator die?
The story of the two Indian girls, said to have been at the bedside of Nigeria's former dictator General Sani Abacha when he died in June, is getting curiouser and curiouser. The Nigerian press says they were there. The Indian high commissioner in Nigeria disclaims knowledge of any Indian connection.

Central Vigilance Commission set to get statutory powers
The Government has decided in principle to confer statutory powers on the Central Vigilance Commission, paving the way for the appointment of new chiefs for three sensitive departments - the CVC itself, the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate. The Union Cabinet has decided to urge President K R Narayanan to promulgate an ordinance in this regard.

Monica may contradict Clinton during testimony: Post
Any conflict between the testimonies of Monica Lewinsky and Bill Clinton about the "inappropriate relationship" between them may be among the most serious legal threats facing the US President, The Washington Post reported. The newspaper said that the ex-White House intern was miffed at Clinton' contention, while testifying on August 17, that he was a passive recipient of oral sex from Lewinsky and so was legally correct in denying a ``sexual'' relationship as defined by the judge in the Paula Jones case.
