GURGAON, August 21: Telephone subscribers in New Delhi and Gurgaon can now make local calls to Faridabad, Palwal, Nuh, Jhajjar and Rewari. Thanks to short distance charging scheme introduced by the Union Ministry of Communication.The subscribers can make local calls to these towns by dialling 92 and the STD code of the area without zero. For instance, for Faridabad the subscriber will have to dial 92129 (0129 is the STD code for Faridabad).
The facility has also been extended for the suburbs of Sohna, Badshahpur, Hailymandi, Farukhnagar, Garhi Harsaru, Bhondsi, Manesar, Chandu, Gwal Pahadi, Naurangpur, Tikli, Dhaula and Ghamroj and the subscribers of Delhi will have to dial 91 for it while those in Gurgaon can directly dial the number.
The short distance charging scheme will help in giving boost to the entrepreneurial activity in this region since many industrial establishments are coming up at Manesar and Dharuhera besides offering easy communication to the consumers.
