S Korea 4.................................India 1NEW DELHI, Aug 23: The Indian `developmental' hockey team's campaign in the Panasonic Masters at Hamburg ended on a dismal note as they lost all their matches to finish last in the four-nation tourney, according to information received here. Hosts Germany won the title winning two and drawing one match.The Indians were thrashed 6-0 by Germany in the opening encounter on Friday. They gave an improved display in their second match against the Netherlands yesterday, losing by a narrow margin (1-2).
However, the Indians failed to improve on their bottom-place finish in last year's edition here, as they were comprehensively beaten by South Korea 4-1 in their final encounter today.
Germany beat arch-rivals the Netherlands 2-0 today to clinch the title with seven points from three matches. The Germans had been earlier held 4-4 by South Korea.
The Dutch finished second securing six points from two wins.They had prevailed 7-6 over South Korea in their opener. The Koreans ended up third with four points.
