MUMBAI, August 23: Mulund College of Commerce (MCC) won the Mumbai University Inter-Collegiate (mens) chess team championship organised by the Mumbai University and conducted by the Bombay Chess Association at the Somani College, Chowpatty.In the final seventh round, MCC defeated Vivekanand 3.5-0.5 and collected 22 points out of a possible 28 to win the rolling trophy along with six gold medals.

Sabaa, Ananth triumph
While Sabaa Khan and Ashita Misquitta of St Joseph's Convent triumphed in the girls under-17 and under-14 sections, respectively, Kaneri Shrikant Ananth and Belekar Rahul Eknath ofNew English School won the corresponding events in the boys' sections in the All-Bandra Inter-School Road races at the Apostolic Carmel Convent, Bandra, today.

Ankur wins 6th title
Ankur Mahajan won his sixth title of the season when he beat Sahil Kukreja 21-11, 21-11, 21-14 in the sub-junior boys final of the Mumbai Suburban District Ranking table tennis tournament at the Andheri YMCA, today.

Chanda Mhashilkar of Mumbai won the gold medal in the recently-concluded National judo championship for sub-junior boys and girls. In the final, Chanda beat PurnaPatel of Gujarat.
