Kumaon trophy
Goverment Model School, Sector 35 beat Top Tone Cricket Club-32 by 54 runs to enter the finals of the Kumaon cricket trophy at Government College for Men-11 ground today.
In the second semifinal, Kumaon Sports Club defeated Shine Star Club by 24 runs.
Scores: Govt Model School-35: 120 in 25 overs; Top Tone CC: 66 in 18 overs: Kumaon Sports Club: 94 in 25 overs; Shine Star Club: 70 in 21 overs.
Victory hailed
The Chandigarh Golf Association president Desh Prem Azad and secretary CSR Reddy today congratulated Parnita Garewal for her excellent victory in the South India Ladies Open golf championship in Chennai yesterday.
Reddy, who is also Senior Superintendent of Police, Chandigarh, said that the association was planning to tap and groom the youngsters on scientific basis.
