CHANDIGARH, Aug 23: Dharmender Lilly, Ashsish Dhanda and Munish Srivasta moved into the last eight stage of the first S Jaswant Singh Bhullar Memorial prize money snooker tournament at `Canon Ball' in Sector 37 today.Dharmender, ranked No. 2 in the tournament, did not have to sweat to outplay his rival Manan Nagpal in straight frames 64-24, 84-22, 60-47, 95-18 and set up a quarter final clash with Sunny Bhalla to be played tomorrow.
However, Deepak Goel, who was given direct entry into the last sixteen of the tournament was shown the exit by Ashish Dhanda. Deepak shone in patches in the match today. His experience, however, did not come in handy when it mattered most as Ashish kept his cool despite losing second, fourth and fifth frame.
After 2-3, Ashish pocketed the sixth and seventh frames 59-33, 80-29 to emerge victorious.
In another match, Munish demolished his opponent GS Gulati 47-72, 59-41, 52-5, 62-15, 104-7. In the last frame, Munish hit the highest break of 53 points so far. Munish will face Joy Mehra in the quarter finals tomorrow.
