CHANDIGARH, Sep 1: There was a large turn out for the Cycle Rally-cum-Race organised jointly by Haryana Tourism and Sports and Youth Welfare Departments to mark the Haryana Toursim Day. The 24 km route in the senior men's section was won by Sukhjeet Singh while the girls section went to Shailja. The rally was held over a disance of 14.5 km route which began from Puffin Complex, Chandigarh to Red Bishop Complex, Panchkula.The junior boys and girls event was held over a distance of 8 km. Gurpreet Singh and Monica Sharma bagged the first positions in the boy's and girl's groups respectively.
A prize money of Rs 15,000 was at stake in both the senior and junior sections.
Tushar Malik, who was the youngest participant was given a consolation prize.

Boys: Senior: 1 Sukhjeet Singh, 2 Nirmaljeet Singh, 3 Rohit Sharma. Junior: 1 Gurpreet Singh, 2 Harsimran Singh Brar, 3 Ankur Kaul.
Girls: Junior: 1 Monica Sharma, 2 G Nice Kang, 3 Jyoti Chanden. Senior: 1 Shailja, 2 Suneli Chug, 3 Preeti Dutta.
Tennis trials
Trials to select the Haryana Civil Services team for the All India Civil Services tennis tournament to be held at Calcutta from September 8 to 13 will be held on Septemebr 4 at 3 p.m., at the Tennis Courts, Sector 6, Panchkula.
