VADODARA, Sept 3: In an attempt to dismiss the widely accepted notion about art being the regime of only the talented or the trained few, a workshop on `Art in Everyday Life: Facts and Fiction' will be held on September 6 at the Tetra Track Conference Room at Purshottam Estate, Bhaucharji Road from 4 pm to 8 pm.Facilitated by art historian Jayaram Poduval, painter and print-maker Kavita Shah and freelance journalist and art critic Monal Jayaram, the workshop will comprise brainstorming sessions to help participants ``discover'' and ``acknowledge'' the artist in themselves.
Jayaram, in a press release issued on Wednesday, stated, ``Whether we believe or not, there is an artist in each one of us who can change the horizons of one's life and the quality of one's work. This workshop will help the participants discover that artist in them''.
According to Jayaram, the workshop would put to rest the participants' doubts ranging from whether learning to appreciate art could be possible without any formal training to a simple understanding of the art in routine chores such as cooking or embroidery. For details and forms contact the workshop venue stated above or call at 426920. Each participant will be required to pay Rs 100 as the registration fee.
