CALCUTTA, SEPT 6: The relentlessly swelling rivers aided by heavy rains have inundated fresh areas in North Bengal and Murshidabad and threaten to cut off the area from the rest, the reports reaching here said today.The floods have already forced out lakhs of people from their homes and left over 100 dead.
The loss of property and crops has exceeded Rs 500 crore in the affected areas in Malda, North and South Dinajpurs, Jalpaiguri, Coochbehar and Murshidabad districts.
