Pak Islamic group threatens to kidnap Americans

ASSOCIATED PRESS
PESHAWAR, Sept 6: A radical Islamic group today threatened to attack US property and kidnap Americans in Pakistan unless Washington apologizes to the Muslim world for last month's missile strikes in Afghanistan.

An estimated 15,000 members of the militant TNSM group took to streets here, shouting `death to American' and jihad, which means holy war.

During the rally, TNSM founder Maulana Sufi Mohammed threatened to lay siege against all American property. He did not set a deadline.

TNSM stands for the movement for the enforcement of Islam in English. It was founded in 1992 to push for the militant enforcement of Islamic law. The fast-growing group's violent actions include attacks on an airport and Pakistani government installations in 1994.
