Teachers' union submits memo

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE  
VADODARA, Sept 6: The members of the Vadodara city Recognised Private Primary Teachers Union submitted a memorandum to District Collector Anil Mukim on Saturday, to bring to his notice their pending problems.

According to the union members, the salaries of women teachers, who proceed on maternity leave, were being deducted, which was a violation of the rules. They also alleged that though the school authorities accepted donations, they did not provide any extra facilities for the students. The members also alleged that the government was not taking any step to to accommodate teachers who were rendered surplus in several schools.

Apart from the collector, the union members have also forwarded their memoranda to the district education officer and the minister of state for education.
