Conductor stabbed
Three persons allegedly stabbed a bus conductor of a chartered bus at Bhajanpura on Saturday. At the Brijpuri red light, three to four persons reportedly got into the bus, that plies between Yamuna Vihar and Ajmeri Gate. The conductor, Nand Kishore, asked them to buy tickets and they reportedly refused. A fight ensued and one of them took out a knife and stabbed the conductor in the stomach and left shoulder.When the co-passengers began shouting, the bus driver stopped the bus and the assailants made good their escape. All the assailants were said to be in the age group of 25-30 years. The conductor, who was rushed to GTB hospital, is stated to be stable.
Woman kills self
Venu Gupta (28), a resident of Ashok Vihar, reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself by a dupatta from the ceiling fan at her house on Saturday night. She was apparently alone at home. Her family had reportedly gone to a relative's house and were expected to return late in the evening. The motive behind suicide is not yet known. She got married to a junior engineer two years ago. The Ashok Vihar police are investigating the case.
1 held for murder
Suresh Kumar, a resident of Shahadara, was arrested for attempting to murder his wife, whom he reportedly stabbed several times. They got married a few months ago. The Shahdara police is investigating the case.
