Gaurav and Ankur shine
Gaurav Chhabra (108) and Ankur Julka (83 and 3 for 11) helped Gyan Bharti School beat Sri Ram school (DLF) by an innings and 92 runs and enter the quarter-final of the Apollo Cup (under-14) cricket tournament. St Stephen's College girls defeated IP College 56-40 in the 38th Royal club basketball tournament. In boys section, Bharat National School beat Air Force School 41-12. In another match Ramjas School No. 4 prevailed over DPS (RK Puram) 71-40).

Nitin, Sailender excel, Nitin impressive
Keshav Puram Cricket Club prevailed over Platoon XI by 64 runs in the Hind Cricket Tournament at PBG ground. Nitin Arora (84) and off-spinner Sahilender Nath (4 for 23) were the main scorers for the winners while Nitu (35) and Harsh Kapoor (24) were the main contributors for Platoon XI.

NYK declared best
Nehru Yuva Kendra team was declared the best after their fine showing in the inter-state karate championship. The Nehru Yuva Kendra won 25 gold medals. The championship was held at Jind (Haryana).
In individual team Kumitte, deaf and dumb player Manoj Sharma (36-40 Kg) won the gold medal, while in the sub-junior section (25-30 kg), Sujeet Sharma won gold medal along with Vipin Solank (31-35 kg), Kamal Kant (35-40 kg), Sachin Sharma (21-25 kg).
In the junior girls category, Deepa Sharma (35-40 kg) claime dhte gold gold while other winners inclued Rekha Paharwa (41-45 kg), Gunjan Gupta (41-45 kg), Gunjan Verma (45-48 kg) gold.
Kishan (56-60 kg) won the silver in serniors category, while for junior boys, Sujeet Kumar (51-55 kg) had to be contend with the silver. In sub-junior boys, Kamal Kant Singh (36-40 kg) won the gold and Pradip Giri (41-45 kg) finished with a bronze.
Bhagat Singh tourney
Subhash Chandra Bose Yuva Kendra (Lohia Nagar,Ghaziabad) will be organising the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Memorial Tournament from September 27. The winners will get Rs 8,000 and runners-up Rs 5000. St Mary's beat Jamia
Mount St Mary's beat Jamia School 36-35 in a neck and neck fight in the inaugural match of the Vth Inter School Basketball tournament. In the second match, Father Angel School defeated New Green Field School (Alaknanda) 54-26. In the last match of the day, Amity International (Saket) triumphed over Cambridge School (Srinivaspuri) 50-26.
