killed, 5 hurt in road accident
Three persons died and five others got injured when a tempo collided with a tractor near Nigambodh Ghat at around 5.30 a.m. yesterday. After the collision, the tractor careened off the road crushing people sleeping on the pavement. The dead are yet to be identified. The injured have been hospitalised and are said to be stable. A 40-year-old woman was found murdered at her Kanjhawla house last evening. The police say that Kaushalya was found dead by her husband Banarsi Das after he returned home in the evening. Some cash and jewellery are also reportedly missing from the house. DCP North-West Satyender Garg said that the couple's domestic servant, Amar, is missing since the incident. A case of murder has been registered at the Kanjhwala police station.
2 die as stairway collapses
One Yashpal (32) was killed, while another man and three children were injured when a stairway inside a two-storeyed house in Navi Karim collapsed at 3.50 p.m. today. The injured were rushed to RML Hospital. One of the injured, eight-year-old Satish, later succumbed to his injuries.
