THANE, SEPT 9: The State Government has provided Shiv Sena leader and Rajya Sabha member Satish Pradhan with additional police security after he complained of threats to his life from the underworld.Pradhan wrote to Chief Minister Manohar Joshi and Thane Police Commissioner Bhujang Mohite that an unidentified person called on him at his New Delhi residence to discuss matters related to Mumbai's gangsters.
The letter adds that Vasant Masurkar, Pradhan's associate, has been receiving anonymous calls for the last two days. The caller allegedly wanted Pradhan to contact underworld don Chhota Rajan in Malaysia.
Pradhan has complained of receiving such calls even at his office. The callers allegedly used abusive language and threatened to kill Vijay Chitre, Pradhan's personal assistant.
