September 10: Chief of Army Staff General Ved Prakash Malik will highlight the role of Indian Army in protecting the nation from ecological degradation.The General will talk on `The Threat Within' at the function on Friday organised by Sanctuary - an ecology and wildlife magazine.
Gen Malik will take the opportunity to address some of the critical police statements concerning the army's environmental plans in future. He will also hear the views of experts in the field of environmental protection and communications on how the Army can best achieve its environmental objectives.
Gen Malik will be accompanied by his wife Dr Ranjana Malik, and other top army officials.
