Narrow win for Kerala Police

Express News Service
Chennai, September 10: Indian Bank had an ominous start in tune with the weather on Thursday in the All India Central Revenue Open invitation football tournament quarterfinal league match.

The bankmen started on a brisk pace but in the end were beaten 1-2 by Kerala Police.

Dempo, Goa, seeded direct into the quarterfinals, were a poweraway 4-1 winner over State Bank of Travancore. It was a humdinger of a contest, notwithstanding a sharp shower on either side of the half.

Dempo with their prize catch Tejinder Kumar, who had moved over from Churchill Brothers, had enough ammunition to rattle the SBT pack.
