Sachdeva's assets to be auctioned
Two Gurgaon-based properties belonging to Pawan Sachdeva of M S Shoes are expected to be auctioned off on October 14, to help pay off his dues to Allahabad Bank amounting to Rs 32 crore. An order to this effect has been issued by the Debt Recovery Tribunal in New Delhi.

NTPC mega plans to make western region 7000 MW power house
The western region of the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) is embarking on a massive expansion plan to increase its generation capacity from 4,913 MW to around 7,000 MW by the end of Ninth Five Year Plan.

FM plans MF to push PSU sale
Union Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha has mooted the flotations of a mutual fund (MF) by banks and financial institutions to warehouse disinvestment proceeds in case the market fails to respond to the massive disinvestment programme of the public sector units scheduled this year.
