LUCKNOW, SEPT 11: Prime Minister A B Vajpayee announced here today about an imminent expansion of his Cabinet. While pointing out that the much-awaited expansion of his Cabinet would take place soon, Vajpayee declined to give the details. On the issue of India signing the CTBT, Vajpayee said: ``Our stand on the issue is clear. We have already made it clear that there would be no nuclear tests in future, which in itself underlines the spirit of the CTBT.''
When asked about the Supreme Court's indictment of the government over the transfer of Enforcement chief M K Bezbaruah, Vajpayee said that the court had given its judgment and it had been implemented. ``The chapter is closed,'' he said.
On being reminded that the allies of the BJP Government in Uttar Pradesh have opposed inclusion of Hardwar district in the proposed Uttarakhand, as was decided by the Centre in its draft, he said the Bill was awaiting the approval of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. He said the final decision would be taken depending on whatshape the Bill takes during the House discussions. The BJP's allies, including the Janatantrik BSP, have decided to oppose the Bill in the House on September 19 if Hardwar isn't excluded.
