Ministerial staff hold rally

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHANDIGARH, Sept 11: Punjab State Ministerial Service Union today held a rally here to press for their demands.

The rally was held in protest against the delay in implementing the demands by the state government which, the union said, had already been cleared by the state Chief Minister.

The protesters at the rally also decided to go on a four-day strike from September 15-19. The rally was held in front of the Sector 34 Parivar Kalyan Bhawan in which employees belonging to ministerial cadre from health, agriculture, sports, social welfare, welfare for scheduled caste, Ranjit Sagar Dam, public health and director of public relations office took part.

Union's general secretary Bal Krishan Sharma stated that women employees also participated in big numbers. Union leaders also deplored the "adamant" attitude of City Mayor Gyan Chand Gupta who, they said, was insisting on imposing parking fee.
