NEW DELHI, September 11: The Delhi Government yesterday gave a written assurance to the agitating Delhi Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Service (DANICS) officials that their demands has been forwarded to the central government for immediate action.The DANICS and the Delhi Administration Subordinate Services (DASS) officials had gone on a mass leave yesterday and are threatening to go on a complete strike from September 16 onwards if the recommendations of the Fifth Pay Commission are not implemented.
The chief minister informed the officials of the DANICS and the DASS joint forum that following a meeting with the Delhi Home and Finance Ministries, it was decided that the central government will be asked to act upon the Fifth Pay Commission recommendations on the DANICS and the DASS cadre at the earliest. ``This is first time we have got a written assurance of some kind. But we will go on strike from September 16, if nothing comes of this,'' the joint forum spokesperson said today.
