Suresh Kalmadi: Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president Suresh Kalmadi has condoled the death of Prin N D Nagarvala, who died here this morning. In a message from Kuala Lumpur, Kalmadi said that the demise of Prin Nagarvala is a big loss to fields of sports education and culture. Prin Nagarvala continued to guiding the sports activities till his last moments, Kalmadi recalled the contributions made by the doyen of Sports.
Nandan Bal: ``The pillar of all sports is no more with us in this sports city,'' said Nandan Bal, former Indian Davis Cup Coach. ``Although he was much into cricket and hockey, he was involved in all sports''.
Chandu Borde: Former India skipper Chandu Borde today termed the death of Prin. N D Nagarvala as a personal loss to him.
In his condolence message, Borde said he owed his success in Ranji and Test cricket to Prin. Nagarvala.He was a great fighter, a strict disciplinarian, fearless and straight forward person.
Rajabhau Gokhale: Former Ranji player Y N alias and former Test player Sadanand Mohol also expressed similar sentiments, while former Maharashtra Hockey Association secretary Victor Ellis, who had a long association with Prof Nagarvala, termed his death as a personal loss.
Benny Boodle: The vacuum created by the sad demise of Principal Nagarvala can never be filled,'' said the Maharashtra Hockey Association secretary Benny Boodle. ``A man for all seasons, the sporting fraternity has lost a man whose guidance will be remembered for long''.
