Seminar on "Ageing Brain"
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, Sept 14: Mumbai will be doing its bit to contribute to the cause of senior citizens this year, the United Nations Year of the Aged. On September 19 and 20, a medico-legal seminar will be held on "Ageing Brain", where issues such as death, brainstem death and provisions in Indian Mental Health Act with regard to the aged will come up for discussion. The seminar is being organised by the Dementia Research and Services Group of Bandra Holy Family Medical Research Society and FIAMC Bio-Medical Ethics Centre, in association with Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Society. The seminar, according to convenor and director of Dementia Research Services Group Dr C J Vas, will focus on the legal rights of the aged -- something which has been neglected all this while. For example, demented people are deprived of their money by relatives. The seminar will start at 9.30 am at Concord II, Ramada Hotel Palm Grove, Juhu.
