4 accused of burglary
The Athwa Lines police on Monday registered cases of house-breaking against four people, all residents of Nandurbar in Maharashtra and who worked in the city, after a complaint was lodged against them in the police station. Markand Jariwala, a resident of Hanuman Char Rasta, Gopipura, complained to the police that accused broke into his house and stole cash of Rs 43,000 and other valuables. The police have registered a case and are investigating.

Assaulted
A resident of the Bhathena area of the city was beaten up and later stabbed by a man, with whom he entered into an argument with on Monday afternoon, the Mahidharpura police said. Francis Christian lodged a police complaint on Monday afternoon stating that he was standing on the footpath when one Manga Ramesh, a resident of Falasawadi, abused him after an argument. According to the complainant, when he told Manga not to abuse him, he stabbed him. A case of assaulting has been registered in the Mahidharpura police station.

Hit-and-run
A person was injured and sustained serious injuries when the vehicle on which he was travelling was hit by a Tata tempo on Sunday night, the Kapodara police said. One Rajeshbhai, travelling with Jatin Parmar, who was driving the scooter, was admitted to a private clinic after he was hit by Tata tempo (GJ 2 C 7585) near the Kumbharia Patia, the complaint said, adding that the accused fled the scene immediately. The police have registered a case under sections of the Indian Penal Code and Motor Vehicles Act.
