Rathi, Pratibha claim titles

NEW DELHI, September 14: Ajay Rathi of Sonepat and Pratibha of Bhiwani won the men's and women's singles titles in the Haryana Badminton Championships held at the War Heroes Memorial Stadium in Ambala last night, according to reports reaching here. Seven of the eight finals were won by players from Bhiwani district. Pratibha claimed four titles, winning girls (under-19) singles and doubles, women's singles and doubles.

Men's singles: Ajay Rathee bt Virender Kumar 15-12, 15-8.
Men's doubles: Virender-Surender (Bhiwani) bt Sukhvinder-Satvinder (Bhiwani) 15-11, 15-4.
Women's singles: Pratibha (Bhiwani) bt Harsh Lata (Bhwani) 11-4, 11-0.
Women's doubles: Pratibha-Harsh Lata bt Anjali-Nidhi (Bhiwani) 15-4, 15-4.
Boys singles: Sukhvinder bt Arvind (Sonepat) 15-3, 15-5.
Boys doubles: Sukhvinder-Satvinder Singh bt Amit-Sachin 15-10, 15-5.
Girls singles: Pratibha bt Pritika 11-0, 11-1.
Girls doubles: Pratibha-Harsh Lata bt Meenakshi-Partika 15-0, 15-6.
