PM to induct AIADMK MPs in Cabinet
Decks have been cleared for the inclusion of three AIADMK MPs, Dindigul Sreenivasan, C Gopal and Niraikulathan, in the Union Cabinet during its expansion, likely by the end of this month. Their induction has been reportedly cleared by Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee in an obvious tactical move to mollify the AIADMK.
Rabri govt braces up for fresh polls
With the threat of dismissal looming large, the Rashtriya Janata Dal Government in Bihar appeared to have braced itself for fresh elections on the plank of resisting bifurcation of the state while Jharkhand parties Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (M) and JMM(S) yesterday predictably decided to withdraw support to the minority government.
Cong and BJP join hands in Jharkhand issue to counter Laloo
The proposed creation of a Jharkhand State is kicking up a storm with the Congress and the BJP backing the concept of a state within Bihar, thus taking a strong anti-Laloo Yadav line on the contentious issue.
