15,000 tonne of onions to be imported
MUMBAI: The National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Limited (NAFED) may import 10 to 15 thousand metric tonne onion to ease domestic prices.
Special trains
MATHURA: Indian Railways would run special trains for devotees of Pakistan and Bangladesh on the occasion of forthcoming Urs at Ajmer in Rajasthan in a bid to open new bonds of friendship with the two neighbouring states. Special trains would be run between Lahore and Ajmer for Pakistani devotees, while those run between Calcutta and Ajmer would be for devotees from Bangladesh, Union Minister of State for Railways Ram Naik told reporters here on Friday.
Naxal lynched
HYDERABAD: Irate villagers lynched a militant belonging to the banned People's War Group (PWG) after a group of Naxalites shot and injured two ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) workers at Veepangandla village in Mahabubnagar district of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday.
Defence boat
NEW DELHI:Indian Navy will launch the first of its four Fast Attack Craft (FAC), Seaward Defence Boat (SDB T-61), at Calcutta on Monday. The boats, at present under construction, are equipped with state-of-the-art detection systems and multi-sensor guns and armament, a Defence Ministry release said.
