Picasso muse Dora Maar's mementos on auction block
Fifty years after Picasso dumped her for a new love, Dora Maar died alone and forgotten, comforted by mementos and artworks from the artistic titan who betrayed her. Maar's shrine to lost love is headed for the auction block. The extraordinary cache constitutes one of the last important Picasso collections still in private hands outside his family.

Tamerlane conquers the hearts in Uzbekistan
Amir Timur, popularly known as Tamerlane is a new hero that Uzbekistan can claim as its own. He is the 14th-century tyrant whose nine-year rampage across Eurasia resulted in a bloodbath. The Union ministry of information and broadcasting's heavy hand is coming down in right earnest on Prasar Bharati. In a major policy reversal, the Ministry has asked Prasar Bharati to examine the case for more mythologicals and historicals in an effort to make Doordarshan more "swadeshi".
