Drawn matches rule the day

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
PUNE, Sept 21: Goalless encounters were the order of the day, in the inter-divisional women's football tournament which began at the Pune University ground here today.

In the inaugral tie Pune District played out listless soccer to hold Nashik. Bhavana Gangurde did make some headway to score for Nashik, but failed to convert it into goals, likewise she was well supported by Sussette Kourbah.

In the second encounter, Pune City looked a better outfit against their opponents Ahmednagar. Pune City virtually camped themselves in the rivals half, with Siji Mary John playing an outstanding game for Pune City -- in terms of attacks.
