VADODARA, Sept 20: A fashion designing course in the Maharaja Sayajirao University. Sounds interesting, doesn't it. According to Amit Jhaveri, a city-based industrialist who has been recently appointed as one of the board of directors of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), this was one of those few courses which had a lot of scope these days.This was because fashion changed within few weeks and everybody wanted a new concept, he said, while addressing reporters here on Sunday.
He claimed that the university already had the infrastructure for introducing such a course and if the MSU Syndicate cleared it then it could be affiliated to the NIFT.
``Though NIFT already has eight branches in various parts of the country, it is not always possible for it open a branch every year,'' admitted Jhaveri.
According to him, a fashion designing course would be different from other textile-related courses in the university, because it would be the first of its kind that would deal with designing and not just stitching and recognising material.
