On Sunday, the Government agreed to hand over the keys to the strongroom containing the golden throne needed for Wadiyar's Dasara pooja, and Wadiyar in turn agreed to hand over the golden howdah

for carrying the idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari during the Vijayadashami procession on October 1.

``Now that the government has not come in the way of the traditions and religious ceremonies, I will hand over the howdah for the Dasara procession. I had never said I will not hand over the howdah,'' Wadiyar said.

According to Wadiyar, Mysore Divisional Commissioner Raju Premkumar handed over two letters from the government, one instructing the Directorate of Archaeology and Museums to make available all the halls and hallways at Mysore Palace for conduct of Vijayadashami religious ceremonies by the royal family.
