NEW DELHI, September 21: The Delhi High Court has asked D.D. Mittal, the builder of the controversial Chavan Rishi Apartments, to deposit Rs 3.5 crore in the court within 15 days.The division bench comprising of justices Y.K. Sabharwal and K.S. Gupta today also accepted the report filed by the director of the forensic laboratory which has conducted the tests to ascertain whether the papers of the plot where the apartments came up in Model Town were five or 50 years old.
The director had earlier sought three months to submit his report, which has now been referred to the defence lawyers. The court turned down petitioner O.P. Sharma's plea for recovering from the builder Rs 10 crore that the unsuspecting investors had invested in the unauthorised apartments.
