Man wanted in 3 murder cases held
The anti-robbery squad of the Delhi Police arrested a man wanted in three murder cases in UP on Sunday. The police recovered a .315 loaded country made pistol and a live cartridge from his possession. According to the police, the accused, Vijay Kumar, belonged to Jatan Sirohi gang which was involved in many highway robberies. The police apprehended the robber when a patrolling party witnessed a scooter driver being accosted by the accused and his associates at Kingsway Camp. The three driving a Maruti Zen forced Baldev Singh to part with his purse. On pursuing the car, police caught Vijay while the other two fled.

Police say that the accused was involved in a case of attempt to murder and had recently robbed a UP businessman of Rs 7 lakh.

Man shot atA 25-year-old man was reportedly shot at by intruders who entered his Najafgarh house on Sunday. Ashok Kumar's mother saw them and raised an alarm. Ashok managed to catch hold of one of the assailants. Another one of them reportedly fired at him. Ashok has received bullet injuries on the head and chest. The intruders then fled the spot. Ashok has been admitted to the Safdarjung Hospital. The Najafgarh police have registered a case of attempted murder and are investigating the case.

Two fatal accidents
The police control room staff deputed at the ISBT flyover managed to apprehend the driver of a Maruti Zen who had reportedly fled after knocking off a pedestrian in the area. The Zen bearing number DL 6C D 4338 was also seized by the police. The pedestrian reportedly died at the spot. In another incident, PCR staff reportedly intercepted a Tata Sumo bearing number UP-14E-4781 and apprehended its driver Manoj Kumar who was fleeing after knocking down a woman near Shyam lal College. The victim died on the spot.

Body found
The police found an unidentified male body in a ditch near railway lines in Old Seelampur around 8.30 am on Monday. Police officials said that the victim had apparently suffered head injuries. Efforts are on to verify the identity of the deceased.
