Police warn defaulting financed-car owners

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, September 21: The Delhi Police has issued a circular requesting car-finance companies for a prior notice to them before they seized vehicles whose owners have defaulted on the loan repayment. It has also warned the owners of such vehicles against lodging false reports of robbery and snatching of vehicles.

DCP (PCR) Uday Sahay said ``it has been increasingly observed that finance companies and banks are seizing financed vehicles in the Capital in case of default in payment of installments by the individual debtors. The individuals then lodge a report with the PCR or the local police stating their vehicles have been robbed by miscreants''.
