NEW DELHI, September 21: Powered by Vrinda Tulshan's two-goal effort, Modern School (Vasant Vihar) defeated hosts S S Mota Singh Senior Secondary Model School (Janakpuri) 2-1 to enter the girls final of 16th S S Mota Singh memorial hockey tournament here today.After being held goalless in the first half, Modern School began the second session on a confident note as Vrinda scored two goals in the space of five minutes. Harleen scored the lone goal for the losers.
Modern will take on Guru Harkishan Public School (India Gate) in the final. GHPS had topped the round-robin league while Modern School finished second.
In the boys section, however, hosts S S Mota Singh Senior Secondary Model School whipped Sawan Public School 4-1 in a totally one-sided league encounter. Gurvinder Singh was the start of their victory. He scored a hat-trick while Jaspreet Singh accounted for the other goal.
