Vananchal Bill rejected by Bihar Assembly
The Bihar Assembly on Monday rejected the Vananchal Bill, which proposed creation of a separate tribal state, by 181-107 votes and also allowed the Rabri Devi government to withdraw a resolution passed for creation of a separate state last year by an almost identical margin.

Don't break norms, Laloo pleads with PM
In a last ditch effort to save the RJD Government of Bihar, Laloo Yadav on Monday appealed to Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee "not to break all norms'' and suggested the formation of a six-member chief ministerial committee to judge the performance of the State Government.
