President yet to okay Rabri's sack
A day after Rabri Devi won the vote of trust, and more dramatically, a day after Laloo Yadav actually pleaded with the Prime Minister not to plumb any crisis, the Centre went ahead and recommended dismissal of the Rabri Devi government and imposition of President's Rule while putting the Bihar state Assembly in suspended animation. Meanwhile, President K R Narayanan assured that he would not take any hasty step on the Union Cabinet's recommendation.

Bihar bandh today, Rabri threatens fast
With the Union Cabinet having recommended President's Rule in Bihar, the stage is set for a massive showdown in Patna between supporters of the ruling Rashtriya Janata Dal and Opposition parties. Laloo Yadav, who is in Delhi to meet the President tomorrow morning, warned of "possible militant agitation'' in Bihar.

Bihar has fodder for new anti-BJP front
The Union Cabinet's recommendation to the President to dismiss the Rabri government and impose Central rule in Bihar has in one stroke consolidated the anti-BJP forces in Bihar and may pave the way for a national alliance between the Congress, the Left parties and the Rashtriya Loktantrik Morcha.
