Bihar not just case of numbers: BJP justifies decision
Seeking to deflect nation-wide criticism on the Government decision to recommend the imposition of Central Rule in Bihar, the emergent BJP national executive meet justified that the situation in Bihar was a danger to national integration and security of the state.

Reorganisation Bill passed by UP Govt
The Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday passed the Uttar Pradesh Reorganisation Bill, 1998 for creation of a separate Uttaranchal state by 215 to 74 votes retaining controversial Udham Singh Nagar district in the proposed new hill state.

Pressure builds up against Art 356 in Bihar
Pressure built up in the Capital and from Patna against the Cabinet recommendation on imposing Central Rule in Bihar. The Bihar Assembly moved two resolutions appealing the President to reject the Union Cabinet recommendation to impose President's Rule in the state.
