MUMBAI, SEPT 25: Muslim leader and Rajya Sabha member A H Rizvi on Wednesday condemned the demand made by Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav for Rs 2000 crore financial assistance to Pakistan.``No Indian Muslim will ever tolerate such a demand. It was unfortunate that a politician, who was a once defence minister, made such an ugly demand. It appears that he has made the plea for the sake of publicity with an eye on the Muslim vote bank,'' Rizvi said in a statement.
Rizvi said Muslims in India have full faith in their religion and at the same time they are loyal to India. ``Muslims, who opted for Pakistan after partition are being treated as second class citizens. Under such circumstances, a demand for financial assistance to that country should be condemned by one and all,'' Rizvi said, adding, in fact, Muslims are more happy and safe in India.
Rizvi, who is also the Vice President of the Loktantrik Congress, said even if he has political differences with a section of the political parties, hemust admit that Muslims are treated on par with a majority community in India.
