Challenger Trophy teams on Oct 5MUMBAI: The national cricket selectors will choose the three teams -- India Seniors, India A and India B -- for the NKP Salve (Challenger) Trophy day-night cricket tournament on October 5, the fifth and final day of the Irani Cup tie at Bangalore between Karnataka and the Rest of India.
The four-day tournament, commencing at Ahmedabad on October 15, assumes importance as the selectors are to choose the Indian team on October 18 for the nine-nation ICC Knock-Out Tournament.

BANGALORE: Feroz Ali, overcame the ill-effects of a bad back to coast into the lead on the second day of the McDowell Centenary golf championships at the Bangalore Golf Course on Friday. Lying one stroke behind leader Shiv Prakash at the start of play today, the Calcutta professional turned up a three-under par card on top of his four-under par on the opening day for a total of 135 to steer a clear four strokes ahead of second placed Arjun Singh.
