Meet on pensioners

S S Ramachandran, secretary-general, All India Central Confederation of Pensioners' Associations (AICCPA), Delhi will meet pensioners and hear their grievances on Saturday, (September 26) at Anushakti Residents Welfare Association Hall, Brindavan Bldg, Anushaktinagar at 4 pm.

The confederation chief, who is being felicitated by the Atomic Energy Retirees' Welfare Association (ARWA), will review the latest scenario in Delhi regarding the pensioners and other related issues. ARWA has invited all active pensioners to attend the meet.

Free polio surgery camp

Lions Club of Navghar Vasai Road, in association with District Chairman Polio Camp Committee District 323-A-3, is organising a free polio corrective surgery camp. Polio affected children upto the age of 16 years having deformities in the lower limbs only will be operated at Agarwal Hospital, Shivali Road, Vasai (E), Thane. For details contact on Tel. 912-45-4277. Pre-check-up camp will be organised on October 3, 1998and surgical camp on October 4, 1998. Device to gauge TV audience

The Indian Society of Advertisers and the Advertising Agencies Association of India launched the country's first people meter-based television audience measurement (TAM) service today. TAM is a joint venture between AC Nielsen, a market research company, and Kantar. TAM has bid for a national service the specifications for which will be drawn by a user group in association with a leading Indian broadcaster. Telvision ratings for the first phase of the service will be released to subscribers from October.
