Hailing from a family where music has been a passion for the past three generations, it was only natural that Bela Shende took up singing since the age of eight. But family traditions apart, she has been steadily climbing up the ladder of success by dint of her unmistakable talent and hard work. In fact, she has appeared thrice on TVS Sa Re Ga Ma.After winning the children's special episode at age 13, Bela entered the adults' contest last year, where she again walked off with the honours. Following that, she participated in the show's mega final. Her win there resulted in a flood of offers coming her way. Other than doing a number for a forthcoming movie, Haseena Maan Jayegi, she also has a combined album to her credit, brought out by the Sa Re Ga Ma team and was even invited for shows in the USA, where she stayed for three months.
Totally dedicated to music, Bela, who has just passed her SSC with distinction, plans to take up singing as a full-fledged career. Her counsel for other aspirants - make your diction good, be choosy about your songs and see that the total impact is good. For those who wish to make singing their career, her advice is ``worship music, have full faith in your guru and career, and respect those who have already achieved success in music''.
