Sadar Bazaar explosion puzzles police

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, September 25: An explosion that rocked gali no 8 of Kasawpur in Sadar Bazaar around 3 pm yesterday has left residents of the area in a tizzy. A bomb disposal squad and the police who reached the spot were flummoxed by the cause of the explosion. More than 24 hours later, it was not clear whether a bomb caused a crater or whether, as one resident said, that a tubewell was being dug in the area.

A resident was apparently getting a tube-well installed in the area. Sources claim that he reportedly used dynamite to do it which is forbidden by law. A case has been registered against him. However, he is reportedly absconding.

A crime team again visited the spot late this evening and gathered samples of the debris to determine the exact nature of the explosion. Sadar Bazaar officials were tight-lipped about the case.
