UN welcomes with gusto Indian move to sign CTBT; US cautious
The United Nations has reacted with gusto and the United States with caution, to India's move to sign the nuclear test ban treaty after successful conclusion of its strategic talks with Washington.

School kids among 20 killed in collision at Rly crossing
At least 35 persons were killed and 31 injured in two accidents in Andhra Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh yesterday. Twenty persons, most of them school children, were killed when a rail engine rammed into an Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus at an unmanned level crossing at Bothalapalem in Nalgonda district yesterday morning.

Laloo told to surrender on Oct 28
The Supreme Court yesterday dismissed petitions of former Bihar Chief Ministers Laloo Prasad Yadav and Jagannath Mishra and seven others challenging Non-Bailable Warrants (NBWs) by a special court at Patna in the multi-crore fodder scam case and directed them to surrender before the special court on October 28.
