BANGALORE: Ali Sher stole the thunder with a four-under card, as a nail biting finish is on cards with Arjun Singh and Shiv Prakash emerging joint leaders with a cumulative score of 208 in the penultimate round of McDowell's Centenary Open Golf tournament in the Bangalore Golf Club Course here on Saturday.

Digvijay leads

CHENNAI: Meerut's Digvijay Singh shot himself into the lead playing a one under par card of 71 to net the best three round total of 215 in the AV Thomas Gold Cup Golf Championship for Amateurs at the picturesque par 72 Cosmopolitan Golf Links here on Saturday.

Leading scores: 215: Digvijay Singh (75,69,71); 217: Amit Lutra (75,72,70); Sheeraz Kalra (73,68,76). 218: JaivierVirk (Delhi) 73,75,70, Harmeet Kahlon (72,74,72); 220: Amit Dube (76,72,72); 221: Simarjeet Singh (76,72,73).

Change in venue

NEW DELHI: The venue of the Inter-State Senior Athletic meet scheduled to be held in Jamshedpur in November is likely to be shifted due to the unsatisfactory condition of the track there. As the the meet will be the final selection for the Asian Games, it has to be conducted on proper track.

The National Athletic Circuit Meet-IV slated to be held at Mumbai on October 20 has been deferred by two days and now will be held on October 22.

Kambli not yet fit

MUMBAI: Mumbai left-hander Vinod Kambli has not yet gained full fitness after suffering an ankle injury at Cuttack during the triangular series, according to BCCI secretary Jaywant Lele.

``He will be practicing with the Mumbai Ranji Trophy probables next month,'' he informed.
